The district has sponsored eight Rangeland Health Assessment projects through grants from the Wyoming Department of Agriculture. This is a cooperative program where the district, the landowner, the State Lands and Investments Board, the federal agency ( Bureau of Land Management or Forest Service) and rangeland management specialists from the University of Wyoming or consultants conduct health assessments of the rangelands to be utilized in management decisions.
